De Garth Presents . . . main mission is to locate and hire qualified local musicians & singers to perform their original compositions and their interpretation of Straight-Ahead and Modal Jazz Music, in front of serious Jazz listening audiences here in the Houston area.
It is our mission to highlight this hip Afro-American Jazz music treasure through a series of live performances. De Garth Presents . . . will accept all professional Jazz artists’ audio/video submissions of their works year-round, including their written professional biographs.
Our De Garth Presents . . . onstage musical presentations will not only focus on the artists’ compositions, but also works performed by Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Art Blakey, Donald Byrd, Betty Carter, Cannonball Adderley, Sonny Rollins, Nina Simon, Freddie Hubbard, Keith Jarrett, Billie Holiday, Herbie Hancock, Joe Carmouche, Al Jarreau, Joe Samples (Jazz Crusaders), Kyle Turner and other well-known American Jazz composers. And it is also part of our main mission to increase work opportunities for many of our local professional musicians.
Our De Garth Presents . . . mission is to locate an excellent venue, which will provide our listening audience an outlet to perfectly experience our Jazz shows at a great price, while enjoying a relaxing and safe atmosphere.
Our De Garth Presents . . . mission to put on an excellent scripted show, giving our audiences a long-lasting feeling of wanting to come back to our next show. We want them to feel like they were sitting in on something that was creative, easy to understand, positive and reflective of them in our Jazz music setting!
De Garth Presents . . . mission is to present a series of Jazz Shows between 2019 and 2021, showing off Houston area’s finest musicians. The Jazz music made in America, has had great impact throughout our society musically, intellectually and status wise. That time should never be over looked or forgotten, because it was “The Birth of the Cool” and “Intellectual Pride”.
